If you're Renaultsport fans like we are, than these are exciting times for you, because we're soon to find out if the new Clio RS is as good as the old one. Renault has changed absolutely everything to the point where you'd fail to see the connection, a risky more to say the least.
So, has it payed off? We won't know until real production starts and actual client cars are delivered, but this "test drive" video provided by the French carmaker itself seems encouraging.
The new RS hot hatchling seems to have become more savage and more calm all at the same time. Renault can make this claim because it has tied the engine, gearbox and traction control management systems with a pretty ribbon of three drive modes. This is a car for the playstation generation!
The Clio RS 'old times' will quickly point out that they too can shift gears for their overpowered supermini engines at about 1,500 rpm if they're in a bored mood. But even they will admit city fuel consumption estimated at just over 8l/100km is amazing.
