The Ram 1500 TRX is going out with a bang after the 2024 model year, and it's being celebrated with a special version. Aptly called the Final Edition, it features additional goodies on top of the regular model and is accompanied by a $120k price tag in our market.
Will the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition, which is expected to be capped at up to 4,000 units, be the last time we ever hear of this nameplate? Not quite, you see, because the Stellantis-owned truck brand has hinted at a possible return. The nameplate is believed to make a comeback on the next-gen 1500, and as CEO Tim Kuniskis said, "more news" will "come at a later date."
This story, however, isn't about the Final Edition but a bad copy of the normal Ram 1500 TRX. Vossen released images of it on Flickr with an emphasis on the wheelset. Named the HF6-4, the forged alloys have a Y-spoke design and can be ordered in multiple finishes and sizes. They're available in diameters of 20, 22, 24, and 26 inches, with respective widths varying from 9.5 to 12 inches, and they start at $649 per wheel.
Many high-riding vehicles rock these alloys, the company's website reveals. They have been added to models such as the Ford Bronco, F-150, Everest, Toyota Tundra, Mitsubishi Pajero, Cadillac Escalade, and others. In fact, this 1500 TRX is not the only one of its kind to ride on these wheels, but it is certainly one example worth taking a closer look at. After all, the rims are not the only defining feature.
Finished in a dark shade of gray and decorated by multiple orange accents, especially the ones on the RAM emblems all around, on the lower part of the grille, and on other components, it has custom decals on the sides. The back end is all about spending the night in the great outdoors, as it features a custom support in the open bed that has a pop-up tent mounted on top of it. Thus, you could call it a camper with basic needs, if you will, though we think the overlander word suits it far better.
Under the hood lies the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8. However, since there is no reference made about the engine, we will assume it has remained stock. But that's more than alright because it is already very punchy. The spec sheet reveals it produces 702 hp and 658 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, sent to the four-wheel drive system with an off-road focus through the eight-speed automatic transmission. In 4.5 seconds after taking off, it will have reached 60 mph (97 kph). And if you want to take the 1500 TRX drag racing, you should know it can deal with the quarter mile in just under 13 seconds.
