Having broken cover just a few days ago, the most cyberpunk pickup truck from the most electrifying carmaker on Planet Speed has instantly claimed the throne as the internet's newest drag racing sensation. The Tesla Cybertruck has honored its badge by beating everyone it lined up against – then again, it's a surprise when a Tesla vehicle comes not first in a quarter-mile showdown. The latest antics from the truck 'Built for Any Planet' involve going head-to-head against the world's first SSUV (Super Sport Utility Vehicle), the Lamborghini Urus.
Until the air is cleared of the Cybertruck hype, we'll see many more sprinting sessions showing up on social media platforms until everyone finally gets the point: electricity is quicker than fire. It's a scientific fact, and there's no debate about it. The real entertainment will begin when the Cybertruck will run with its next-of-kin electrified pickups – and that will probably be more thrilling to watch.

It will certainly be more entertaining than a drag race between the newest star in Elon Musk's trophy room and a posh (and pointless) Italian automobile that offers no added value to the raging Bull on the emblem. With its enormous battery pack (123 kWh is almost an industrial-grade cell), the Cybertruck with its three-electric-motor, all-wheel drive commando shoots off the line without the slightest hesitation.

It's so damn quick, it looks two tons lighter than it actually is (and it's a hefty hunk of stainless steel, pushing the pavement with 3.1 tons). Nonetheless, the official specs rate it at 2.6 seconds in the 0-60 mph (97 kph) dash. That's 0.7 seconds better than the Lamborghini Urus Performante. But the Lambo in this video from carwow's YouTube channel is an Urus S, so the acceleration score is even lower, at 3.5 seconds.

Not that it makes any sort of difference – the Cybertruck beats it so bad we might as well use a solar dial to measure the difference at the end of the strip. For the sake of numbers, stats, records, and whatnot, note that the electric wedge Tesla covered the customary 440-yard speed trial in 11.2 seconds. The pompous V8 in the Lamborghini is merely a pocketknife looking for a fight in an artillery barracks, and it needed 12.3 seconds to get to the far end of the drag strip.

At 857 PS hp and 930 Nm (845 hp, 686 lb-ft), the Cyber-Tesla has a power-to-weight ratio of 274 hp/ton. The 4WD, 666-PS, 850 Nm (657 hp, 627 lb-ft) Urus tips the scales at 306 hp/ton (the SSUV weighs 2.2 tons). But the twin-turbo vee-shaped eight-cylinder  takes two and a half eternities to get up and go (at least, compared to the triad of lightning-bolt-eating motors in the Tesla).

The 1.1-second gap sounds even worse (for Lamborghini) when we look down to the two contenders: the rugged, paintless, stainless-steel-clad pickup truck is wearing its work boots (mud tires), while the self-proclaimed athlete has the performance rubbers on. That's the main reason why the Lamborghini wins the 100-0 mph (161-0 kph) braking test.

Well, that and the extra ton on the EV pickup. But no carmaker has ever made a profit with boosting it's cars' slow-down performance. With that in mind, what do you think will happen to drag racing if Tesla decides to make a Plaid version of the Cybertruck, dropping a megawatt of power in this shard?
