Joe Biden is definitely a car guy. He drove the Ford F-150 Lightning before it even hit the road as a production model. The president of the United States has recently bragged about The Beast in a conversation with China's President Xi Jinping, and now he speaks with so much enthusiasm about driving a Porsche and doing launch control in it.
A guest of Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend show, President Biden talked about driving a Porsche. While he did not mention the exact model that he got his hands on for the experience, he revealed his feelings when doing launch control, so we can safely assume it is one of the latest in Porsche’s lineup, like, let’s say a 911 Turbo S, a car that is literally loaded with 'ammunition.' It flashes from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) in 2.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 205 mph (330 kph).

If it was the Porsche 911 Turbo S that he drove, then President Biden enjoyed 641 horsepower (650 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

"They have a launch switch," Joe Biden told Conan O’Brien and explained how the Launch Control function actually works. "What you do is you put your foot on the gas and the brake and on the button where the gear shift is, you hit launch and you watch the launch symbol inside the speedometer and it counts down. And when it gets down to zero, you just take your foot off the brake and you move. It is like boom! It is incredible!"

The button that President Biden refers to is actually the driving mode controller where you switch into Sport+ mode. All you have to do then is press the brake pedal hard with the left foot, put the throttle pedal to the floor with your right foot, then suddenly release the brake pedal. And bam it is, indeed!

The US president admitted doing 171 mph (275 kph) in the Porsche and seemed very happy about it. Two years ago, even before Ford started the production of the F-150 Lightning, the head of state drove the electric pickup truck and tagged it as "quick" and "incredible."

At the time, there was no information about the variant the Commander-in-chief was driving. But what we do know is that the truck is not called 'Lightning' for nothing. The quickest of them all does 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and does the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds.

Biden said that he still has his first car, a 1992 Ford Taurus. "It's not worth anything, but I still hang on to it because in my lineage, you hang on to a car forever."

"Forever" is what he does with his 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. Joe Biden is not allowed to drive on public roads anymore, but he gets the chance, every once in a while. On the Secret Service Test Track, driving his 55-year old Corvette, he hit 132 mph. He got that car as a wedding gift before he married his now deceased wife. The last thing he would do would be giving up the Vette.

"For 36 years, I was the poorest guy in Congress. But I couldn’t separate with that car. By the way, the new Corvette coming out, this one, electric," Biden said enthusiastically on Conan O'Brien's show. But that won't happen before 2025. Before the EV is out, the environmentally conscious can go for the Corvette E-Ray hybrid.

President Joe Biden has recently gone through a scare involving a car from the US Secret Service. One of the vehicles in his motorcade was slammed into by a Ford Five Hundred. The driver was charged with DUI. Nobody was harmed in the incident that happened just as Biden was leaving the headquarters of his re-election campaign staff on Sunday evening, together with the first lady Jill Biden. Mrs. Biden was already seated in the armored SUV when the crash took place.
