The elegant Katina is a perfect match for the prestigious status of its builder, one of the oldest shipyards in Europe. Both contemporary and timeless, this Croatian gem offers a rare configuration for ultimate luxury.
Croatia is one of the top destinations for luxury yachting, yet few of the fabulous superyachts gliding along its coast are actually made locally. Katina is one of them, continuing to be a fine representative of Croatian yacht building even after nearly a decade.

The monumental Katina was launched in 2015. Prior to that, Brodosplit had entered the superyacht world with the debut of the Caspian Star. The two were similar. Both had a length of 60 meters (196 feet), a generous layout that could accommodate at least ten guests and a remarkable 4,000-nautical mile (7,400 km) range. The Caspian Star made its debut at the end of 2012, with Katina following three years later.

Katina doesn't claim to be an innovator, yet it remains unique among its peers due to its unusual, rare configuration and the classic elegance of a golden-era gentleman's yacht. Unofficially a megayacht, Katina boasts a huge 1,212 GT volume. It's no surprise that it can provide luxurious accommodation for more than ten guests. What is unexpected is the presence of two identical master bedrooms.

Both suites are located on the upper deck, revealing a high-end setting with en-suite bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and king-sized beds. Best of all, each comes with a forward-facing balcony for private enjoyment of the outdoors.

Another pleasant surprise is that the remaining cabins are also bigger and more luxurious than most. Each is fitted with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a private balcony. In other words, all six of Katina's cabins offer private balcony access – a rare treat even with top superyachts.

This rare, passenger-centered configuration won Katina the reputation of a "floating five-star hotel." Born to be a popular charter superyacht, the Croatian vessel has everything guests could wish for. In addition to its remarkably spacious staterooms, Katina flaunts vast areas for entertainment and socializing. It can easily host parties for up to 150 people, making it an ideal choice for fancy events and celebrations at sea.

If two master suites weren't luxurious enough, Katina also offers two equally stunning bars. The most original one is its whisky and cigar bar on the main deck. Try to picture the golden glamor of a classic-style gentlemen's lounge – heavy wood panels everywhere, a rustic fireplace, a humidor, a fine selection of drinks, and a chess set waiting.

This sophisticated bar is the perfect refuge during cold evenings and the perfect complement to the nearby sauna. While this elegant enclave takes us back in time, the same deck houses the modern amenities you'd find on any contemporary pleasure craft – a big gym and a spa area.

The main salon oozes the same timeless sophistication as the whisky bar. This is where the second bar is located, perfect for cocktail parties. There's enough room left for a sumptuous dining area and a plush lounge spot. Style-wise, precious woods such as finished oak and high-gloss walnut are mixed with neutral-colored fabrics and décor items for a strong contrast. Modern light fixtures and art pieces prevent the space from becoming dated.

A large jacuzzi takes center stage on the sun deck, flanked by wide, comfy sun pads. A generous al-fresco dining setup is partially protected against the elements. In the afternoon, guests are invited to enjoy movies at the outdoor cinema. Those seeking more adrenaline also have a well-equipped toy box to choose from (including everyone' favorite, a giant inflatable waterslide).

Katina's sumptuous interiors were styled by the acclaimed Turkish designer Ali Gez, while its silhouette bears the signature of naval architect Boris Zanko. It continues to be one of the largest superyachts delivered by Brodosplit. This prestigious historic shipyard goes back to the early 1930s. Today, its workshops and slipways unfold over more than 560,000 square meters (more than 6 million square feet).

A warm and inviting home away from home, Katina is also among the best in terms of performance. Twin Caterpillar engines propel it at 14 knots (26 kph). When slowing down to ten knots (18.5 kph), it can ensure an autonomy of 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km).

Towards the end of last year, the Croatian charter star completed a comprehensive refit that included full repainting. It's ready to find a new owner, someone willing to spend a whopping €32 million ($34.4 million). And this offer comes after a huge price slash last year when Katina dropped more than $2.5 million from its asking price.

In the meantime, the Croatian superyacht continues its charter career unbothered. With weekly rates starting at more than $250,000, it's one of the most luxurious five-star hotels on the water in one of the top millionaires' playgrounds.
