With deliveries for the 992 Neunelfer having kicked off just a few months ago, this is an awesome time for Porschephiles. You see, the German engineers are already out there, testing plenty of spiced-up 911 derivatives. For now, we'll focus on the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo, with a pair of test cars having been recently spotted out in the wild.
As you'll notice in the image we have here, these are prototypes of the 911 Turbo Cabriolet. The one in the background seems to sport the rear fascia of the already-released Carrera S (with the optional Sport Exhaust, as shown by those fat oval pipes), but the active rear wing clearly shows this is a Turbo.

When it comes to the tester in the background, this comes with the trapezoidal exhaust pipes that define the Turbo.

In its quest to meet the ever-increasing emission targets, Zuffehausen might retire the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six animating the 991.2 Turbo, introducing an all-new motor.

However, the spiciest rumor of them all regards the 911 Turbo S. This could become the Turbo S E-Hybrid, as it has happened with the Panamera and the Cayenne.

Even so, we might have to wait until the ".2" mid-cycle revamp to see the move happening and the facelift is still four years away.

On the handling front, the wider tracks of the 992 are part of a series of updates that will bring a dramatic performance boost. For instance, you can expect the new Turbo to blitz the Nurburgring in less than seven minutes. For the record, the same thing can be said about the already-spied 992 Porsche 911 GT3.

Speaking of the timeline, the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo should make its debut by the end of the year. In fact, we've already seen the supercar in a leaked photo, which seems to portray the machine wearing an Aerokit that involves a more noticeable rear wing.
