Maserati has been in the premium compact crossover game for nearly two years now with the Grecale, and they have just updated the model with a limited edition that adds the Sport suffix.
With only 50 copies destined for the United Kingdom, the new Maserati Grecale Modena Sport slots between the mid-spec Modena and the range-topping Trofeo. The Trident brand hasn't announced its pricing details, stating only that it is available to order at local dealers, and it's almost impossible to guess how much it costs given that the Modena has an RRP of £70,925 ($90,058) and the Trofeo kicks off at £102,480 ($130,125).

What makes it so special, you ask? A few special touches inside and out. Starting on the outside, the new Grecale Modena Sport comes with 21-inch Crio Gloss Black forged wheels, whose finish matches additional other details such as the splitter, side skirts, logos, and daylight opening. It also gets red brake calipers for some contrast and rear privacy windows, and besides Nero (Black) Tempesta, it can also be ordered in Bianco (White) Astro, Blu (Blue) Intenso, and Grigio (Gray) Lava.

Opening the door will reveal its premium nature courtesy of the leather upholstery that is available in black or red, stitched together with the Chevron design and joined by the glossy piano black wood trim. Here, the Italian automaker, which is part of Stellantis, also mentions stuff such as the Sonus Faber premium sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and electric panoramic sunroof.

This limited edition version of the company's premium compact crossover also features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster, a wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones, a reversing camera, and comes with full LED headlamps, parking sensors at both ends, rear active braking, active cruise control, hill descent control, and a few other things.

Power comes from the 325 hp (330 ps/243 kW) 2.0L engine with mild hybrid technology. The crossover uses an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, has a mechanical limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension, electronically variable active damping, and it is one fast ride, as it takes 5.3 seconds to 62 mph (100 kph), with a 149 mph (240 kph) top speed.

Maserati hasn't said anything else about the new Grecale Modena Sport destined for the United Kingdom, so we will remind you that the Grecale is also available in our market. It comes in the GT, Modena, and Trofeo flavors. The first two pack a 2.0L mill that develops 296 hp (300 ps/221 kW) and 325 hp (330 ps/243 kW), respectively, and the latter brings a 3.0L V6 to the party, making 523 hp (530 ps/390 kW). The GT starts at $65,300, and for the Modena and Trofeo, the car manufacturer is asking at least $74,900 and $105,500, respectively, before destination.
