In December 2023, the British automaker under German parenting, spread its high-riding wings by announcing that the U25 third-generation Countryman subcompact crossover SUV was available in the Land Down Under.
Marking a significant departure from the predecessors regarding styling, the latest Countryman is even larger than before, way sleeker in terms of design, even more minimalist, and also greener. Since September 2023, when it first came to light, MINI has been gradually rolling out the CUV in the most critical regions, including Europe, North America, and Australia.

Speaking of the latter, the initial launch late last year included two gasoline-powered versions: Countryman C and S. The company also promised it would soon expand the product lineup, and now we know the calendar for the arrival of the following entries – they are scheduled to hit dealerships during the third quarter of the year. Eager customers who don't mind waiting until then will have the option to buy two additional all-electric models plus the flagship version.

MINI announced that it is sending to the Land Down Under the Countryman E, SE ALL4, plus the JCW Countryman ALL4. With the latest EVs, the BMW Group will have 20 all-electric model variants on sale in Australia to "cement the company's position in offering the largest selection of electric vehicles in the country." Of course, all of them will retain the "MINI charm" and the modern iconic cues introduced by the 'Charismatic Simplicity' design language.

The larger dimensions will bring additional comfort inside the new technology suite, which includes the new 240-mm round OLED central touchscreen and features like the eight MINI Experience Modes or the Driving and Parking Assistant Plus, which should make life both fun and easier when on board. The Countryman E is the base option for all-electric adopters, featuring one electric motor with 150 kW (201 hp) and a sprint time to 62 mph (100 kph) in 8.6 seconds plus a battery capacity of 63.8 kWh, enabling a range of up to 462 km (287 miles).

Secondly, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 steps up the EV game with dual motors and all-wheel drive, plus 230 kW (308 hp) of combined power and a sprint time of 5.6 seconds while the range only drops to 432 km (268 miles) on a charge. The battery will recharge from zero to 80% in just 29 minutes when at high-speed DC stations. Last but not least, at the family's top sits the all-new JCW Countryman ALL4 with a turbo inline-four and 233 kW (312 hp).

Pricing for the Countryman E starts at AUD64,990, which is more than $40k at the current exchange rate, followed by the Countryman SE ALL4 priced at AUD72,990 (over $47k) for the Classic trim, and the JCW Countryman ALL4, which is actually cheaper than the sporty EV, starting from AUD67,990 – which is about $44k.
