Even nowadays, with the Renault Megane RS being ready to retire, the French machine remains one of the hottest hatches out there and it's all thanks to the incredibly capable chassis underneath.
For now, we want to show you a Megane RS Nurburgring moment that can be described as both a save or a crash.

We're not sure how it all started, but we see the front-wheel-drive speed tool sliding extremely wide on a corner exit, with the Megane RS spinning as it exits the tarmac, heading for the protection element on the side of the track.

While the driver uses the full-oppo approach, the car pulls a tete-a-queue, with its rear apron coming incredibly close to the guardrail in a moment that would give Formula D drivers goosebumps.

With the guy in the driver's seat keeping the wheel... locked in maximum countersteering position, the 180-degress spin turns into a 360-degree stunt, but the nose of the Renault barely clips the metallic barrier as the car completes the spin.

A few frantic steering wheel movements later, the manic hatch comes to a stop. And while the scratches on the front apron are clearly visible, this is an extremely fortunate outcome when compared to what could've happened here.

This round-and-around-we-go moment can be seen in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. However, since the clip is over 10 minutes long, those of you in a hurry can check out the hair-raising adventure at the 1:10 point, while some 50 seconds later we see the driver assessing the damage together with the emergency services. Vehicle damage aside, putting a dent in the barrier protecting the Nurburgring means you have to pay for the repairs.

P.S: Remember kids, countersteering is brilliant, but you need to keep up with what the car is doing.
