Cyan Racing "broke" two Nurburgring records with a concept based on the Lynk & Co 03 sedan. With no further beating around the bush, the 03 Cyan Concept lapped the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 20.143 seconds at an average of 170.4 km/h.
2017 World Champion of touring car racing Thed Bjork is the man behind the wheel, posting the fastest-ever lap on the Nurburgring for a four-door and front-wheel-drive car. The problem with these claims, however, lies within the name of the 03 Cyan Concept.

A racing prototype isn’t a road-legal production car, and to this effect, Lynk & Co doesn’t have anything to prove after all with the compact sedan. “The car is rewarding to drive no matter the conditions, be it the Nurburgring or the Autobahn,” said Bjork without regard to the fact that the concept can’t be driven on public roads such as the Autobahn.

Quicker than both the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 and Renault Megane RS Trophy-R, the Chinese sedan has been developed by the same team responsible for the 450-horsepower Volvo C30 Concept and 508-horsepower Volvo S60 Concept. In this application, the 2.0-liter turbo engine develops 528 horsepower at 7,800 rpm and 504 Nm from 4,500 rpm.

20-inch forged wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are also featured, along with six- and two-piston brake calipers with vented discs. Zero to 100 km/h takes 4.4 seconds thanks to a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, and the top speed is rated at 310 km/h.

Ohlins adjustable dampers and a thumpin’ great wing at the round off the list of improvements, but there’s more than meets the eye in regard to this car. The windscreen, fender flares, and bumpers aren’t exactly stock either, and the same can be said about the hood.

The 03 is manufactured since 2018 in China with Volvo underpinnings, namely the Compact Modular Architecture of the XC40. The Polestar 2 all-electric sedan also utilizes the CMA, and as far as the 03 is concerned, Lynk & Co provides 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines and three transmission options including a seven-speed DCT.
