Having been unveiled back in April at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the 2023 Lexus LM is finally on sale in the United Kingdom. And it's one pricey cookie.
The model is offered in three distinct configurations: the LM 350h with front-wheel drive, the LM 350h with all-wheel drive, and the LM 350h Takumi with AWD. Pricing starts at £89,995 (equal to $115,538) for the most affordable version, going up to £92,995 ($119,390) for the mid-range and £112,995 ($145,066) for the top-of-the-line spec, respectively.
By comparison, one could buy a brand-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which starts at £92,550 ($118,818) in the UK, or the long-wheelbase variant of the three-pointed star brand's flagship sedan from £96,550 ($123,954). They could also order a new BMW X7, which has a recommended retail price of £86,405 ($110,929). Should they find Lexus models a bit more appealing, then they could opt for a new LC, as it kicks off at £95,515 ($122,625).
Equipment-wise, you're looking at 19-inch alloys and a 14-inch monitor for those sitting at the rear, which deploys from the roof, on the LM 350h. This trim level also gets a 21-speaker premium audio from Mark Levinson, a dual-zone climate control system, twin-fixed sunroofs, semi-aniline leather upholstery with Ultrasuede inserts, power-adjustable first and second rows, heated and electrically adjustable steering wheel, head-up display, remote parking, and panoramic view monitor.
Upgrading to the LM 350h Takumi means getting additional features, such as the seats that can be fully reclined, which also offer seven different massaging programs. Folding tables, a wireless charging pad, USB sockets, and an improved sound system are also included. Another highlight is the partition wall separating the first and second rows, with a glass panel that can be dimmed for extra privacy, which houses a 48-inch widescreen monitor. Beneath the widescreen, Lexus fitted a refrigerator and two gloveboxes.
Exterior paint finishes comprise the Sonic Agate, Sonic Titanium, and Sonic White, and the 2023 LM can also be ordered in Graphite Black. Inside, customers can choose Black or Ammonite Sand leather upholstery. The Safety System+ bundle of active safety gear is on deck, with stuff such as smart exit assist, front cross-traffic alert, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitor, and LED headlamps with AHS adaptive high beams.
All versions of the 2023 Lexus LM sold in the United Kingdom use a 2.5-liter gasoline-electric powertrain. Shared with the NX 350h and RX 350h, the assembly pumps out a combined 247 hp (250 ps/184 kW). As we already mentioned, the entry-level version of the Japanese company's premium minivan uses front-wheel drive, whereas the other two are equipped with an all-wheel drive system. The new LM is on sale today, with deliveries said to kick off in November.
