“Some dreams are special,” Lamborghini says in the caption to one of its latest videos. The dream of getting a supercar is even more special if it comes with the knowledge that you did your part to help others while getting it.
In November this year, Omaze announced a new, extraordinary partnership. Pop star Lady Gaga and Lamborghini had agreed to make the 2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD the big prize in a sweepstakes that would raise money for the Born This Way Foundation. The money, it was said, would go to those who had been “disproportionately impacted” by the crisis of 2020, including children and minorities.
The car in question was the one featured in Lady Gaga’s 911 video, where it appears right at the end. No word on whether it belonged to Gaga, but the entire campaign made it sound as if she had been part of the whole “giving away” thing. At the very least, she attached her very famous name to the campaign, and involved her own charity foundation, Born This Way, into the process.
The winner of the car was announced at the end of last month so now, in a new video, Lamborghini is showing where the money raised will be going. Beneficiaries of the $333,800 raised with the campaign are Together Rising, One Spirit and Al Otro Lado and, according to one testimony in the video below, it will “make the difference between surviving and thriving.”
As a surprise, Lady Gaga says she too will be making a donation to each organization, through Born This Way.
“Some dreams are special, but the greatest are those that allow you to share kindness,” the carmaker says. “We teamed up with Lady Gaga to give people the chance to win the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD from the 911 music video for an Omaze sweepstakes. Donations from the sweepstakes will support Born This Way Foundation and families and organizations in need.”
As for the Huracan, the lucky winner got it with taxes and shipping included, as well as 25 percent of the ARV and, most importantly, the celebrity provenance.
