Kia Launched Australian Open Microsite

As the major sponsor of the Australian Open in Melbourne, Kia launched a microsite dedicated to tennis fans all over the world. If you’re interested, you should check out www.kia.com.au/tennis.

The content of the website will only be available on the duration of the Australian Open and it includes the Kia Hawkeye Umpire Challenge, Fan of the Day images, tennis news, blogs and Twitter feeds, with direct links to the Australian Open website.

The Kia Hawkeye Umpire Challenge is up and running on the website. The game challenges you to play make calls on whether the tennis ball was in or out of the court.

The Love All blogs will start running on January 4, featuring the competition from the point of view of a professional tennis player and one of the drivers of the Kia fleet who will serve the Australian Open.

Kia has a long lasting tradition in tennis, as it has been the Australian Open sponsor since 2002. Rafael Nadal, the world's second ranked men's tennis player, has been Kia’s global brand ambassador since 2006. As a result, he was involved in promoting the Korean brand, especially in Europe. Nadal won the 2009 Australian Open, as he defeated Roger Federer at Rod Laver Arena.

As a result of the association of Kia Motors and Tennis Australia (TA), which organize the Australian Open, the Korean car manufacturer supplied eleven Kia Sorento SUVs to TA’s top National coaching staff.
