In production since 2019, you would think that Toyota has been flaunting the GR Supra (aka A90/91) for enough time to alleviate all A80 pains caused by Gazoo Racing's joint development of the fifth generation alongside BMW.
Following a rather long hiatus (A80 production wrapped in the summer of 2002), Toyota finally caved in and fulfilled the numerous fan requests to bring back the beloved Supra sports car. However, they didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on development and decided to let Gazoo Racing handle the issue alongside their new partners from BMW.

The rest is automotive history – there's a new moniker, GR Supra, and the model has the same platform as BMW's G29 iteration of the Z4 roadster. More so, both are produced at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria, instead of Germany and Japan, respectively. Naturally, that didn't bode well for a part of the ardent fan base.

During that time, Toyota had ample time to try and appease the spirits – they recently launched the 2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary edition to celebrate the iconic nameplate. Alas, some just cannot get over the fact that they consider the A80 Supra a better car. Luckily, not everyone frowned and abandoned the brand altogether – some just decided to take matters into their own hands to achieve their vision.

Or rather, they did it at the tip of their CGI brushes, as is the case with the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. Case in point, artist Giulio Partisani, founder of Octon: Creative Dungeon (aka oct8n on social media), has decided to bring back something from his digital memory. The pixel master previously worked at Koenigsegg, Honda, Jaguar, Ferrari, Bertone, and is now the Chief of Advanced Design at CEER. Don't ask us what that acronym means, though – all we know is that it's not the Combined Energy Efficiency Ratio.

Anyway, he's also a virtual designer in his spare time, and not long ago, he dreamt of Toyota presenting an A80-inspired Supra instead of the real world's GR Supra we got from Gazoo Racing and BMW. In his vision, the alternate universe Supra is dubbed 'Æ100' and looks stunningly remastered in any 'rainbow' color.

Interestingly, the CGI expert now wants to perform a callback to the times of virtual development because he probably never had the chance to show us an "old, preliminary rendering of a JGTC-inspired kit for my Supra Æ100." Usually, that wouldn't cause a great fuss, but this transformation almost makes the graceful and elegant design morph into a veritable Time Attack-style monster.

Of course, the widebody design works well for anyone passionate about stuff like Liberty Walk – and I really wanted to present this because it's an even more outrageous approach on the slammed and widebody JDM-style matters! Note the crazy details – on the front hood, on the fenders, the winglets, the black aero pieces, the edgy side profile, and of course, the way this Supra's entire rear end combines with the extra-wide fender flares and the bonkers swan neck rear wing to form a unitary mass of daringness.

Ultimately, I know it's all wishful thinking, but I would love to see an aftermarket house or an intrepid DIY tinkerer get inspired by something like this and make a GR Supra akin in real life. That would be utterly cool, seeing how it would be able to laugh in the face of any Nissan Z Nismo, right?
