Jeep is looking to make the Wrangler and Gladiator even more capable off-road, with the introduction of an upgraded Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) 2-inch lift kit courtesy of Mopar. The lift kit features specially tuned Bilstein 46-millimeter monotube shocks with remote reservoirs, which should deliver increased performance alongside larger wheels and tires.
The new shocks are said to complement the increased ground clearance and larger wheels by delivering consistent, fade-free performance regardless of conditions. Meanwhile, the self-adjusting, deflective-disc valve will react instantly to surface changes, in turn giving the driver maximum control of the vehicle.

As for what the remote reservoirs do, they increase oil capacity for greater heat dissipation, while a unique swivel banjo fitting allows the flex hose to rotate 360-degrees for direct fitment, thus protecting the reservoir oil line from any contact.

This new bolt-on JPP lift kit is easy to install in stock mounting locations and no extra drilling is needed.

“Our Jeep Performance Parts team at Mopar is always looking for innovative ways to improve performance for off-road enthusiasts,” explained Mopar North America boss, Mike Koval. “With more than 500 quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories across the Jeep lineup, our customers win with new options to upgrade and personalize their vehicles.”

The lift kit package, which you receive in a reusable (and JPP branded) wooden crate, comes with four springs, the four Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs, front lower control arms, front and rear stabilizer links, front and rear bump stops, assorted fasteners and a JPP badge.

You can install the kit on 2018 model-year and newer Jeep Wranglers and 2020 model-year and newer Jeep Gladiators, and it will cost you $2,095.

“We can’t wait for our Jeep off-road community to experience the new Jeep Performance Parts lift kit with Bilstein shocks on Wrangler and Gladiator this summer,” added Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “There is nothing quite like legendary Jeep 4x4 capability for enthusiasts who want to tackle the toughest terrains.”

How much is a new Wrangler/Gladiator nowadays?

A 2023 Jeep Wrangler can be purchased new from just $31,195, whereas the Gladiator starts from $38,990. If you want the 4xe plug-in hybrid variant of the Wrangler, the price is a hefty $54,735.

Otherwise, you can just start off with the 2023 Wrangler Sport, the two-door model – this is the one with the $31k MSRP. Two extra doors will cost you upwards of $35,195 for the same specification, so the difference is more than just negligible.

Of course, if you want to splurge, the 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 392 flagship (available only with four doors), is an $82,495 affair. As for the Gladiator, the most you can spend as a starting price is $54,825 for the High Altitude specification.

Let’s not forget about the updated 2024 Wrangler though, which kicks off at $31,895 for the Sport, while the range-topping Rubicon 392 starts at $87,595.
