Ever since McLaren returned to building road cars back in 2011, the iconic F1 of has been the top source of inspiration/motivation for engineers and fans alike. And now the Brits are finally prepared to bring us a proper spiritual successor to their 90s rocket. Previously known as the BP23 and recently baptized Speedtail, the hyper-GT is scheduled to make its debut on October 23. However, as the latest Mclaren social media stunt hints, we might be dealing with an early online reveal, if we may call it so.
The first Instagram photo below, which comes from the automaker's official account, might appear to be centered on the company's Formula One heritage. However, you can easily look past the carbon fiber F1 goodie, since the background of the image reveals a McLaren design that hasn't been seen until now - you'll notice this in the second zoom-in pic.

We can actually see two different design and we're expecting these to be styling proposals for the Speedtail. For one thing, if we check out the silhouette of the car on the left, this could match the profile we noticed in the Speedtail teaser the automaker recently released.

If you're reading this with at least £1.6 million plus taxes to spare and you're considering grabbing one, it's either too late or too soon - all the 106 units have already been spoken for, but the speculation market might have something for you further down the road.

The newcomer will be defined by assets such as a three-seater layout and a top speed of over 391 km/h (243 mph), with the machine being part of the still-in-its-infancy hyper-GT genre.

So while there might be faster machines out there (the Bugatti Chiron and the Koenigsegg Agera RS are the first that come to mind), none offers the coziness melange of the upcoming Woking halo car.
