Nissan’s posh Infiniti brand has unveiled its new global headquarters, in Hong Kong, attempting to increase its (currently small) share of the global luxury car market. Being the first company of the kind to relocate to Hong Kong, Infiniti officials say they the move was made in order for the staff to better observe the city’s high-end markets.
Their main goal is raising their Chinese market share to 10%, from the current percentage of just 3% by beating the rival luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Cadillac. During the Beijing Motor Show, Infiniti officials said that they would start manufacturing vehicles in China starting with the year 2014.

Infiniti’s plan of selling 500,000 cars in 2016 is a bit optimistic, considering they sold only 145,000 units. This growth will be aided by their entry into even more markets, as currently they sell their cars on 45 different markets, with plans for expansion to 70 world markets, including Australia, Mexico, Chile and South Africa.
