The current generation Infiniti G, in all its variants, only comes equipped with Nissan’s 3.7-liter V6 petrol engine which is very unappealing in a market dominated by much more efficient turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
The plan is for the next generation G to get Mercedes-sourced four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines to boost its appeal among European buyers. The car is due in 2015 and Nissan is planning a large expansion strategy to make up for all the years when their cars did not appeal to Europeans’ tastes.

With the new G, Infiniti is bringing out their new design language, which will take its inspiration from their Emerg-E concept. Hopefuly, their strategy of borrowing Merc engines will pay off and we’ll start seeing more efficient Infinits on the street in the near future.
