Land Rover invented the Range Rover in 1970, back when it was a British Leyland brand, and didn't intend it as the premium 4x4 SUV we know today – a model that can easily reach quotations in excess of $200k for its fancier versions.
Over the course of five generations, the iconic nameplate – which easily stands out alongside other 4x4 automotive legends like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class or Toyota Land Cruiser, among others – has grown in every direction from a three-door SUV to a posh five-seater with options for long-wheelbase models with big turbo V8s under the hood.

Today, even the base Range Rover kicks off from at least $107,400 in the United States and can jump to $234k if you want the Range Rover SV with the 606-horsepower V8 and a longer wheelbase. Of course, you can also bring home a more affordable Range Rover because the nameplate has become an entire family of models in the meantime. In the mid-size class, the RR Sport starts from $83,600 and is available with up to 626 horsepower if you select the $180,300 RRS SV Edition One.

Going further down to the compact luxury crossover SUV class, there are two options – Velar and Evoque, from around $61k and a smidgen below $50k. All of them are properly luxurious in their own way, comfortable, and perhaps even quite capable when going off-road. But none of them is a true workhorse like the original Range Rover – capable of getting the owner to the farthest corners of the estate or farm and even enjoying a quick hunting or fishing outing in nature.

No worries, though, as the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has set out to remedy that flaw. Meet Sao Paulo, Brazil-based automotive artist Ovitu (aka _vitunoda on social media), who has a quirky idea - make a fifth Ranger Rover line, a pickup truck. That's wacky, indeed, especially since the design project seems inspired by the looks of the Range Rover Velar mashed together with several elements borrowed from various generic mid-size pickup trucks.

However, since the pixel master didn't hint anything about the powertrain, if this is indeed a frame-ladder chassis-based Range Rover pickup truck, it might cope with anything you throw at it, including RRS SV's 626-hp P635 V8 mill! That kind of power could rule the entire segment, for sure. On the other hand, Land Rover probably doesn't dare to attack the mid-size establishment even in their wildest dreams – the international Ford Ranger is a force to be reckoned with, and in America, the Toyota Tacoma is the undeniable king, too.

Besides, Land Rover has more important luxury fish to fry with the Range Rover family, hence the recent introduction of the Range Rover Sport Park City and Range Rover SV Arete special editions, among other stuff.
