Alongside its parent company's namesake brand, the luxury division Lexus is one of the most prolific brands this year in terms of novelties. Both in the real world as well as across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.
Just think of it for a second. In Europe (right in the heart of fashion – aka Milan, Italy), they recently launched their smallest crossover to date, the cool Lexus LBX, which is a subcompact CUV with premium allure and almost the same DNA as the XP210-series Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid – only a little more powerful (134 hp) and lots more luxurious. Then they also featured a double ensemble in America, where they introduced the 2024 TX and GX 'tag' team.

The former is an upcoming full-size luxury crossover SUV wholly based on the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander that will be produced together with its sibling in Princeton, Indiana (TMMI – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana) and is seen mainly as a spiritual successor of the Lexus RX L due to its family-oriented three-row capabilities. The latter, meanwhile, feels like the culmination of decades of experience both in the rugged off-road field of Land Cruiser SUVs as well as the novel approach to elevating tough SUVs beyond the call of duty, as it happened with the Range Rover and G-Class.

So, the 2024 GX 550 has been admired by fans and critics alike for its rugged atmosphere, great underpinnings (TNGA-F body-on-frame platform shared with J310 Lexus LX, among others), and fresh off-road capabilities mixed with adventurous Overtrail+ ideas. But all these only revolve around the hyped sectors of CUVs, SUVs, and trucks. What if Lexus enthusiasts want something else – like a passenger car with some inherent off-road qualities?

Well, in that case, it is time to move into the parallel universe of automotive CGI, where Sugar Chow, the virtual artist better known as sugardesign_1 on social media, has finally returned to his ethos of 'Touring the world!' After imagining stuff like the Xiaomi SM11 sedan, the first EV from the Chinese technology company, the Ferrari Roma limousine that may never be, or little Chinese SUVs acting as base campers, he is now back in full swing with his self-professed passion for all types of station wagons – even the rugged ones.

So, just in case the run-of-the-mill Subaru Outback isn't enough for you, here is the digital idea of a Lexus ES 'Off-Road' Estate, a station wagon that's way tougher than your premium Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain or Volvo V90 Cross Country. Unfortunately, unlike those three, it's also merely wishful thinking. But that also opens up a world of digital opportunities, like making it a seventh-generation mid-size executive SW packing front and rear black plastic bumpers, a fender-flared widebody Estate, and (above all) an overlanding fan's dream ride. Cool, right?
