Honda Manufacturing of Indiana has celebrated its fifth anniversary of mass production yesterday. Announced in 2006, the facility opened on October 9, 2008, when production of the Honda Civic Sedan began with 1,000 workers in one shift.
Today, the factory located in Greensburg continues to build the Civic Sedan, but also rolls out the Honda Civic Natural Gas, Acura ILX, Acura ILX Hybrid and the Civic Hybrid with the help of more than 2,000 employees working in two shifts.

Honda Indiana has a capacity of 250,000 vehicles per year and is one of only three plants around the world to win J.D. Power’s IQS Platinum award.

"Our team in Indiana has accomplished an incredible amount of success in just five short years, and we have overcome many challenges in doing so," said Honda Indiana president Bob Nelson. "We could not have accomplished any of this without the strong support we have received from our local communities and the great state of Indiana. We are excited about the future here in Greensburg, not only because our global customers embrace the products we make here, but also because Indiana has become our home."
