Grand Theft Auto is one of the most well-known video game franchises. Some lucky people have played and enjoyed the 2D version and were able to witness its evolution. GTA III (set in Liberty City), GTA Vice City, GTA IV (Liberty City), and GTA V (Los Santos) took gamers through different worlds and allowed them to interact with all sorts of characters. But all those stories and experiences are about to be quashed by GTA VI. Get ready! The novelty will be mixed with nostalgia for some of us ('90s kids especially). GTA VI is set in Rockstar's version of Miami – Vice City.
It's the start of a new era. Gamers, get ready!

The GTA VI trailer leaked hours before the real deal was supposed to go online. However, Rockstar monitored the internet and quickly released the real deal. The person who tried to subvert Rockstar's effort didn't even get their 15 minutes of fame. Twitter (X) also moved pretty quickly and suspended their account.

In the autumn of 2002, when we weren't as connected to the online world as we are today, GTA Vice City made its debut. It was an amazing video game filled with impressive dialogue for its time and great options to simply roam around the map. It also challenged the player to complete missions that would unlock more parts of the story and give them the opportunity to visit the other half of the so-called "mini-Miami." Remember Demolition Man and the RC helicopter? That was tough!

The game was so popular that kids back in the day shared strategies, played together, and even shared some cheat codes like "ASPIRINE" or "LEAVEMEALONE." Remember going to the club for the first time? Malibu Club was something to behold!

At the same time, aren't those radio station playlists still in your mind? I would even bet they're in your favorites list on YouTube or Spotify. Fever 105 and Flash FM had all the bangers.

But here we are today: 21 years after the official release of GTA Vice City, GTA VI is finally happening.

Getting ready to explore a brand-new world

Even if you don't plan on playing it because you're a busy adult, it'll still be a great opportunity to discover how this virtual version of Miami evolved after more than two decades. I can see people just wandering around because the trailer showed sharp graphics, tons of activities, and non-player characters (NPCs) having better dialogue, different clothing, and lots of very different rides.

There's a lot of stuff going on, just like in the real world. We may not experience rare cars becoming common instantly after getting to drive one any longer!

So, what has this trailer confirmed for us? A bunch of cool stuff, really! Jason and Lucia are the power couple that will make Bonnie and Clyde fans happy. Lucid is pictured first in an orange jumpsuit as she's talking to a prison employee.

AI-powered social media will be a thing, as it appears that live videos and other types of posts will capture moments in the game or help you get to know some special NPCs.

There are also some characters from real life embedded into the new game. Rockstar has been paying attention to what has been happening in the past few years and introduced some of those events and people in the storyline. Get ready for a lot of "Florida Man" and "Florida Woman" references. In the game, Florida might be called "Leonida."

We also have some very cool cars pictured in the trailer. They won't wear the proper logos and look like the real deal, but these sets of wheels will provide you with lots of fun for sure.

We noticed what should mimic the iconic 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the Porsche 911 (992) Cabriolet, the Chrysler 300, the Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 (Grotti Cheetah), the Lamborghini Huracan, the Dodge Charger, the Audi RS5, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ferrari F12 (Grotti Carbonizzare), the Lincoln Navigator, and other classic or modified cars.

Besides vehicles, we also have boats, bikes, quads, and even airboats. Street takeovers and alligators also appear to be a thing!

Lucia also appears with an ankle bracelet on the illustration, which may hint at some action-packed missions. Jason might have to help her escape house arrest.

No epic Christmas for us

The Ocean View Hotel from GTA Vice City is also in the new game. That was Tommy Vercetti's first safe house. Patriot Beer has also made a comeback.

Besides all that, the level of detail is amazing. Even vodka bottles look like the real deal. Cue Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' "Love Is A Long Road," and you're all set to be immersed in a new world.
Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk already weighed in on the Grand Theft Auto franchise and said he tried it but didn't like it because he's not fond of "doing crime."

For the rest of us who understand that this is a game and not real life, make sure to survive until sometime in 2025. This Christmas and the next, you'll have to play something else or turn off the computer to hang out with friends or family. We'll most likely enjoy some new trailers along the way, so stay tuned for more sneak peeks!

The game will first be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. PC players will likely have to wait a bit more. But the official press release included "entertainment systems." Could that mean PCs and gaming laptops? Let's wait and see what's what when Rockstar's ready to tell us where to go and press "BUY."

Historically, the PC version of any GTA game came a little over half a year after the official debut.

If you still believe people aren't THAT interested in playing GTA VI or it's hyped up artificially, here's a little detail that might convince you otherwise: the GTA V trailer has 95 million views on YouTube after 12 years of being online, while the GTA VI preview amassed over 42 million views in only seven hours since it was published.

Finally, have a "vice day" and keep on keeping on!

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
