Every once in a while, I stumble upon truly breathtaking camper vans. Most of the time, these vehicles are created by specialized companies. However, sometimes, I find DIY creations that show me you don't need to rely on other parties to build a fantastic van. The same goes for today's luxurious camper van, made by a talented couple.
Scarlet and Seth have spent the past three years building vans and the last four traveling in a van full-time. As you know, the best way to learn something is by practicing or experiencing it. All this time this couple has spent inside vans has given them a clear vision of what they need regarding aesthetics and practicality.

The van we're looking at today is their latest build, a Ram ProMaster 3500. As Scarlet describes, it's "the culmination of their experiences over the past years."

It's designed to hide away in plain sight. Its exterior looks like a conventional ProMaster, with nothing hinting that it's a camper. The only exceptions would be a spare tire and a ladder at the rear. But once you open the door and step inside, you enter a completely different world.

The way I see it, it resembles a luxurious spa. From the red oak veneer cabinetry paired with the white countertops and matching white walls to the tiled floor, everything blends perfectly. It gives off a calming vibe, especially when the ambient lighting is turned on.

The living area is separated from the driver's cabin. Indeed, by designing the layout that way, you lose lots of natural lighting, but you gain much more privacy, better temperature regulation, and a cleaner look. To get behind the wheel, you must go through a door inside the bathroom.

The wet bathroom is unlike anything I've ever seen in a camper. Instead of a claustrophobically small shower cabin, Scarlet and Seth devised a massive bathroom space. They raised the walls all the way up to the ceiling and enclosed the area, using Roman clay to cover it on all sides. Instead of a conventional door, they built a stunning arch doorway with an integrated Nautilus door.

Inside, you'll find a small shelf with an LED light, a single overhead light, and two small cubbies for storage. The best part is definitely the massive skylight above, which will let plenty of light shine inside. And even better, you can stargaze while taking a hot shower at night.

The bathroom floor is tiled and heated by a 12 V mat. Moreover, a 12 V water heater provides plenty of hot water, which will drain to a gray water tank underneath the van. Furthermore, a composting toilet is mounted on a 250-lb. (113-kg.) drawer slide.

Back to the living space, you'll notice cabinetry on both sides of the interior. The kitchen features a huge sink with a beautiful gold faucet, two ample countertops, and a 22.5-gallon (85-liter) fridge/freezer.

You can fit plenty of stuff in the kitchen's shelves and cabinets. For cooking, the couple added a small oven and a portable, two-burner stovetop that runs on propane.

Scarlet and Seth travel and live together with their two cats, and they want to make them feel just as comfortable in the van. Not only do they have a bunch of roaming space, but they also have a large litter box hidden away under a small, rounded bench.

There's a small entry table by the van's main door, usually where you drop off your keys or other small items. Just like with the rounded bench, the top part can be removed to reveal the couple's laundry bag.

Scarlet and Seth chose a convertible bed rather than a fixed one to have more space. During the day, they set up a U-shaped couch with a lagoon table in the middle that serves as a small desk. To turn the area into a bedroom, they place a foldable wooden piece in the gap and slide the remaining cushion on top.

Unlike many other campers, this rig doesn't have a garage, but there's a bunch of storage space in the two of the benches that make up the bedroom. The third one houses most of the electrical system - it features a 12 V multi-plus 3000 W inverter and 810 Ah batteries connected to 600 W solar panels on the roof. Inside one of the overhead cabinets, you'll discover a massive control center for the electrical system, water tanks, A/C, diesel heater, and more.

For safety reasons, Scarlet and Seth installed a SimpliSafe system, a popular choice for van lifers. It comes with sensors for temperature and gas and glass break. Moreover, you also get a keypad and key fobs, and you can use your phone to connect to the system. Another essential piece of equipment is Starlink, which the duo uses to work remotely.

Building a van this beautiful is undoubtedly challenging. But making it this good-looking and extremely practical as well? That's something to be proud of, so props to Scarlet and Seth for this fantastic rig. It's not for sale as the couple will continue traveling in it. However, if it were, it would probably be offered for quite a high price.
