General Motors’ flagship electric vehicle is, without a doubt, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV. It’s slated to arrive at dealerships this very fall in fully decked out Edition 1 guise that’s going to cost you an arm and a leg at $112,595. Still, reservations are already (reportedly) full and GMC fans are now eagerly waiting for the arrival of additional choices.
And we’re not just talking about the regular Hummer EV 3X said to become available next fall sporting three electric motors, 800 horsepower, an estimated 300+ miles (483 km) of range, and a $99,995 starting price.
Instead, we’re bringing up for discussion the upcoming GMC Hummer EV sport utility vehicle, which has been originally teased in late July last year and is now primed by the rumor mill for a February unveiling (though not during Super Bowl LV on February 7th, apparently).
The reason we mentioned the SUV version and the additional pickup truck variants of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV is simple. Someone who masters the cool powers of CGI rendering has decided to give us an unofficial take on the possible derivations as a four-door SUV and all-conquering 6x6 pickup truck.
Since we’re dealing with a Bēhance user, the GMC Hummer EV was also remastered according to the personal vision of the author. With that in mind, don’t treat this take as something that’s even remotely possible. Of course, everyone is expecting the official GMC Hummer EV SUV to sport its own personality that will set it apart from the pickup truck.
But the official version will have nothing to do with this virtual SUV. We dig the apocalyptic looks of the customized red SUV better as they are decidedly fitting to the Hummer legacy. Also, the regular Hummer EV pickup truck is just as cute as a teddy bear standing next to it as it gets ready to haul some plants.
As for the 6x6 version, it could easily give Hennessey some new tuning ideas... Overall, it’s a clean effort; in the end, it’s not surprising that people are having a go at rethinking the Hummer since GM’s own designers had diverging opinions at one point.
