While we were busy covering other topics, Ferrari took to its social media accounts earlier this week to present a special copy of the 812 Competizione that was commissioned by one of their wealthy clients.
Signed by the Ferrari Tailor Made Program, this unique 812 Competizione boasts a special paint finish. To the untrained eye, it may look like the usual red that Ferrari uses on its entire range of exotic cars, but this hue is called the F1-75. And if you can't tell, it is the same one that was used on their F1 racers last year during the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, part of the brand's 75th anniversary celebrations.

Joining the special finish is a black stripe at the rear and the usual black accents. The same dark hue was partially applied to the wheels, which also sport yellow outer rings. The latter hue was also applied to the brake calipers, contrasting the rest of the exterior, which is bedecked with the usual carbon fiber trim. For the interior, Ferrari used Aunde Blu Jeans on the seats and black Alcantara upholstery in an interesting combination.

Unveiled a little over two years ago, the 812 Competizione was the range-topping version of the 812 series. It was offered in two body styles, coupe, and targa, with the production numbers capped at 999 copies for the former and 599 for the latter. Despite costing a small fortune, as it is common with rare supercars, all units of the 812 Competizione were sold out in no time, leaving deep-pocketed enthusiasts searching for theirs on the used car market.

Deemed as "the ultimate expression of Ferrari's concept of an extreme front-engined Berlinetta" that has a "racing soul," the 812 Competizione uses a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that was massaged to produce more than the 812 Superfast's 789 hp (800 ps/588 kW). Available at 9,250, the output is 818 hp (830 ps/614 kW). Quite strangely, the torque has gone down from 530 to 510 pound-feet (718-692 Nm).

Ferrari also tuned the dual-clutch seven-speed auto 'box, and back in the day, they claimed the 812 Competizione took just 2.85 seconds to sprint to 62 mph or 100 kph. With a dry weight of 3,278 lbs (1,487 kg), this model rides on 10x20-inch front and 11.5x20-inch rear wheels as standard and returns the equivalent of 13.9 US mpg (16.9 l/100 km) combined, emitting 385 g/km of CO2 on average. At 211 mph (340 kph), the top speed is identical to the 812 Superfast.

So, if you were rich enough to afford your very own Ferrari 812 Competizione, what color would it have? And while you're at it, tell us what you think of the pictured example by dropping a line below.
