It's no secret that Ferrari is preparing to introduce a pair of convertibles to the general public, with social media having recently made sure of that - the 812 Spider and F8 Tributo Spider's silhouettes have come our way via Instagram. And now an actual image of the V12 drop-top, which you can notice above, has shown up on Facebook.
The Ferrari 812 Spider photo was taken during what appears to be a private presentation held for customers. Note that the name is provisional, as Maranello is rumored to use the GTS moniker for the newcomer.
Despite the image's mediocre quality, we can notice a pair of buttresses and a new rear deck, while the roof is actually stored .
Speaking of the top, the mechanism might be a complex one, as the Italian automotive producer has used in the past. Unlike in the case of its V8 models, the Prancing Horse likes to introduce open-air V12 models as limited editions, with the said roof solutions only adding to the magic.
Of course, this means that getting your hands on such a Fezzamight be difficult, if not impossible, unless you happened to be among the lucky aficionados in the leaked image.
Keep in mind that Ferrari constantly updates the requirements of its VIP program, which allows loyal customers access to such limited editions. For instance, here are some leaked details (we're staying in this game for today) of the prerequisites of gaining access to a 488 Pista slot.
No tech changes are expected for the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 of the 812, but with this already delivering 800 ponies, there's little need for such added spice. And with that stowable roof, it means those inside the machine will only get to enjoy the naturally aspirated voice of the engine even more.
Will the F12 Spider or the still-concealed F8 Tributo Spider show up at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show? Possibly.
