Even though it’s technically fall, Ferrari decided to use the month of September to launch two cars for the 2020 model year. The first and foremost is the open-top body style of the 812 Superfast, and on a close second, the Prancing Horse of Maranello will debut the F8 Tributo Spider.
Information on social media – such as the Instagram post at the end of the story – confirms that Universo Ferrari 2019 is the place where both open-tops will premiere in the flesh. The paperweights detail the silhouettes of the 812 and F8 in black and yellow, and as you can tell, there’s not much left to the imagination of prospective buyers and Prancing Horse enthusiasts.

Expected to be called 812 GTS, the V12-engined grand tourer shouldn’t differ too much from the fixed-head coupe. Now that the LaFerrari is gone and the SF90 Stradale has the upper hand in terms of output, the 812 series takes the title of most powerful V12 production model thanks to 800 PS and 718 Nm of torque. Over in the U.S, make that 789 hp and 530 lb.-ft.

While the 812 GTS is expected to pounce on September 9th, Ferrari will take its sweet time with the F8 Tributo in Spider flavor. Members of an enthusiast forum and various people on social media claim that September 24th is the day when the twin-turbo V8 supercar will be shown to the entire world.

On a related note, Ferrari has another surprise in store for November 2019. John Elkann, the chairman of the Prancing Horse, said not that long ago at a classic car gathering that a new type of GT is coming. Described as an easy-to-drive grand tourer, the mystery model is rumored by some to feature the V6-engined hybrid powertrain that Ferrari confirmed for series production.

Further down the line, the Purosangue utility vehicle is believed to arrive no later than 2022 if all goes according to plan. Enzo Ferrari probably wouldn't like Elkann very much  if he were to see for himself how the company has become under the current prez, CEO, and board of directors.
