Alfa Romeo is doing much better than before due to simple math – three is always better than two when you're an automaker trying to increase sales. So, the recently refreshed Giulia sedan and Stelvio crossover plus the all-new Tonale CUV equal good fortunes – at least in the short run.
Stellantis – the conglomerate formed in 2021 through the equal merger of France's PSA Group and Italy-America's Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – has a lot on its 'mind' because 16 brands equal many strategic 'headaches.' As such, no wonder that it takes a lot of time to set its house in order and begin the much-needed expansion of brands that were previously surviving on the goodwill of ardent fans.

Alfa Romeo was such a case, but at least the company has big plans with it as they are already preparing the next Giulia sedan as an all-electric model that will even get enough ponies to jump at the throat of the Tesla Model S Plaid EV on the track and at the quarter-mile dragstrip. Going forward, plans for Alfa include an even larger SUV dedicated to North America, also electric – and also ready to duke it out with the Tesla Model X and its falcon-winged doors.

But what about the sporty Stelvio? Well, suppose you ask the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. In that case, nothing is stopping the Italian brand from also turning it into a zero-emissions hero and fighting the good fight against the Tesla Model Y. Speaking of EVs, the good folks over at "car.design.trends" have recently focused our attention on a couple of unofficial, fan-made projects and one of them is spot-on for our Alfa Romeo Stelvio EV thoughts.

Drawn by Frenchman Antoine Crobe, an exterior designer at Icona Design Group in Shanghai, the hypothetical Alfa Romeo Stelvio EV crossover SUV has all the traits of something from the luxury world rather than a mass-market CUV – the greenhouse is more petite than anyone with claustrophobic tendencies would desire it, the wheels are large enough to make aftermarket companies jealous, and the sleek styling mixes classic Alfa Romeo DNA with modern CUV ethos.

Unfortunately, there is just one POV to discuss, and this being a design exercise, there's no point in mentioning this is entirely wishful thinking, right? As such, we can only speculate about what happens inside the cabin or what EV powertrain dwells front and back with dual electric motors to provide 4x4 traction. In the end, regretfully, we move to the second personal project that caught our attention – from Italy-based Antonio Sasso, who recreated a modern Citroen SM from imagination. That's nice, right – a Frenchman dreaming of an Italian SUV, and then the roles are reversed with an Italian envisioning a French car? As for the Citroen SM, it's a fluid sculpture on wheels, complete with signature elements such as the covered rear wheels plus the fastback allure! So, which one is your CGI favorite, if any?
