If you like 6x6 trucks and you love the Ford Super Duty, then this 2018 F-550 Crew Cab monster might just be the right pickup for you, as long as you don’t mind the price tag. This thing is up for grabs to the highest bidder, after having already traded hands for $157,000 last year.
Have you ever wondered why the Ford F-Series is America’s best-selling pickup truck? Here’s a hint, it’s not so much because of the F-150, but rather because Ford bundles all F-Series variants together when compiling these numbers. The F-Series features an incredibly versatile platform, which allows for a wide range of configurations.
You’ve got your so-called “consumer-oriented” F-150, followed by variants named from F-250 to F-600. Some of those are regular Heavy-Duty pickups, while others are only offered as chassis cabs. Such is the case with the F-550. Oh, and let’s not forget the F-650 or the F-750 commercial trucks.
Let’s focus on the F-550 though, because we just found a 2018 model that’s been converted into a 6x6 truck by Sparks Motors of Utah for the one and only DJ Marshmello. It’s been on sale before, back in July of 2023, when it traded hands for $157,000. With only a few hours left to go in this live auction, the highest bid currently sits at $135,000.
Going through some of the visual highlights, we can’t help but notice the Shadow Black exterior, custom bedside body panels, the louvered hood, steel front bumper, steel windshield visor with illuminated DJ Marshmello graphics, custom roof rack, Rigid LED perimeter and underside lighting, power-operated side steps, a receiver hitch, plus a set of black-finished 22” beadlock-style wheels with 40x15.50” Nitto Trail Grappler tires.
This truck also comes with an air-adjustable suspension system, a lift kit, and remote-reservoir shock absorbers. Someone knew what they were doing when they decided to commission this.
Meanwhile, inside is where you’ll find black leather across nearly all surfaces, silver trim, DJ Marshmello embroidery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a starfield headliner, multi-function steering wheel, and Ford’s SYNC touchscreen infotainment system.
As for the engine, it’s a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8, sending power either to the rear wheels or all six wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. According to the ad, this thing has only covered about 6,000 miles, which is decent – it's still a new truck, basically. Well, except for that front-end collision with a light pole. Yeah, this truck was stolen back in December of 2020 and subsequently involved in a police pursuit, which weirdly enough could make it even more appealing than it already is.
It’s also worth noting that the EGR and DEF systems have been removed, which means the vehicle is not CARB-compliant. And yet, does ‘it’ look like it gives a damn?
