Richard Rawlings, the TV host of multiple Discovery Network automotive shows, recently crashed a Dodge Challenger Hellcat while drag racing. The accident took place at the Roadkill Nights celebrity battle in Michigan.
It all started with a drag race between Rawlings and NHRA star Leah Pritchett. However, while the latter seemed to take the drag race seriously, it appeared that the first decided to do a burnout for the entire length of the run.
Alas, the tire-smoking stunt didn't get too far, with Rawlings losing control of the Challenger Hellcat Widebody (the audio of the video mentions this is a Redeye, but the dual snorkel hood and the red badges are missing).
The VIP aficionado tried to keep the slide in check, but quickly ended up hitting the concrete barrier on the side of the track. The Mopar machine got a bit of airtime, with the spectacular moment leaving many spectators speechless.
Fortunately, the limited speed of the muscle car and the helpful angle of the impact meant that nobody was injured, while the vehicle damage seemed to be limited.
We're referring to the world's first nitrous Dodge Demon, a monster that comes with a four-digit output. For the record, that Challenger has received the required servicing attention and is now back in the sprinting game.
Sadly, we can't say the same thing about Rawlings, which means that perhaps the presenter should have a char with the man in the mirror.

Here's why you might experience a slight deja-vu feeling
This accident reminds us of another recent Challenger SRT accident, the one that saw a Demon meeting the concrete barrier during a drag race. However, the driver of the Demon wasn't trying to show off at the time. On the contrary, the man was testing the custom setup of his machine. We're referring to the world's first nitrous Dodge Demon, a monster that comes with a four-digit output.
