How was your weekend, did you get to enjoy some quality time behind the wheel? Try to imagine a weekend that involves hitting the Nurburgring - we're not referring to lapping the Green Hell in a street car, but to blitzing the circuit in a racecar. This kind of experience sounds like a dream, right?
Well, since we're talking about the Nordschleife, this kind of stunt can easily turn into a nightmare. And we've brought along a piece of footage showcasing a recent accident to illustrate this.

The whole thing was caught on camera on Saturday, with a Volkswagen Polo meeting its end on the infamous German track.

We're not sure how the driver of the Vee-Dub got in trouble, sine the car is already on its side when it enters the frame (alas, this is the wrong kind of sideways).

Given the serious velocity of the vehicle and the unfortunate position, the fact that the metallic protection element on the side of the track did its job well didn't help the little Polo too much.

The car went through quite an ordeal, getting plenty of air time and repeatedly rolling in the process. And to top it all up, the compact racecar finally came to a halt on its roof, with the vehicle finding itself almost in the middle of the circuit. Oh well, at least the roll cage installed as part of the racecar conversion served its purpose, with the passenger cell keeping its shape.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem like the situation escalated as far as other vehicles were concerned - such a position could've easily caused a multiple car crash. For one thing, this bend follows an uphill section, so the driver must turn while the suspension is at work, with the whole maneuver taking place at high speed.

As for the one behind the wheel, we have no clues regarding his or her situation, so here's to hoping the one behind the wheel is okay.
