Have you ever wondered how it feel to bring a NASCAR contraption to the Nurburgring? So did we, but instead of thinking about the answer, we found something better to do with our time. And this involves talking about the an experience of the kind.
As we explained yesterday, when we talked about a teaser of the experience, Nurburgring settler Dale Lomas has brought a slab of US to the Green Hell, with the man now delivering a review.

Keep in mind that we're talking about a gear head who works as a Ring Taxi driver, tests prototypes, races cars and does so much more on the infamous German track (for instance, here's his Bridge To Gantry dedicated blog).

As it turns out, this Chevy-badged contraption is actually a Howe Racing V8 Late-Model Stock Car, which was brought to the Old Continent back in 2009 for the DNRT V8 Championship.

This thing has a 6.0-liter GM crate engine delivering 500 ponies (this works with a live rear axle) and... not much else (not even vacuum braking or ABS). Did we mention that the transmission is a six-speed manual?

And Dale has now released the first part of the racecar's Nurburgring review - even though the details mentioned above prepare one for a hell of a visceral ride, the kind of things you'll get to see in the piece of footage below will leave you speechless.

As you can imagine, the thing is downright terrifying and this impression comes from a man who does north of 1,000 laps per year. Heck, one could easily be scared simply by watching the steering wheel play and listening to Dale talking about the nonexistent steering feedback.

Make no mistake, though, this thing is hugely rewarding, which is why the aficionado has come up with a multi-part review. Grab the popcorn and the super-sized soda and prepare for Part One.

Spoiler alert: As mentioned yesterday, the unsurprising crash did take place, but this isn't present here.

P.S.: Keep in mind that this isn't the first stunt of the sort, with the Red Bull NASCAR toy having attacked the Nordschleife back in 2013.

Update:As it turns out, Dale only figured out that the racecar came with a dog box after the Ring adventure. As such, the no-clutch shifts allowed by the straight-cut gears would've allowed the thing to be even faster while lapping the Nordschleife - guess this is one more reason to repeat the experience...

Update 2:The footage of the accident has been released and it seems that a broken steering link actually caused the crash.
