2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Review Has All The Giggles

What do the Dodge Challenger and the Porsche 911 have in common? Well, apart from the dominating rear-wheel-drive setup and the number of doors, not too much. Nevertheless, the past few years have seen the slab of America becoming quite a bit loke the Zuffenhausen machine as far as the lineup is concerned.

You see, both the Challenger SRT and the Porsche 911 ranges contain more models than one could justify in a discussion with a non-aficionado.

Zooming in on the Dodge, the 2019 model year has brought even more SRT goodies. Sure, the Demon has been retired, but the MY19 range now includes an updated Hellcat "base" model (think: 717 instead of 707 hp), as well as the new Redeye. You know, the insane 797 hp contraption that makes Demon owners angry.

Nevertheless, while the Demon was in a class of its own, 9s quarter-mile promise and 3,300-unit limited production, we can't say the same about the Redeye.

Of course, when talking about the new range-topper, one has to ask - is the $11,000 premium worth it? With the normal Hellcat, if we might call it so, starting in the high $50,000 range, the price of the Redeye can climb rather high.

For instance, if we check out the price of the Redeye in the review below, we notice that the thing will set you back around $90,000 - as usually with press cars, the thing is fully loaded.

As you'll notice in the clip, Matt Maran, the YouTuber behind the stunt, allows the Mopar machine to fully entertain him, which might also give you the giggles.

Interestingly, the review we have here also covers the Scat Pack Widebody, albeit just briefly. So if you end up spending long nights with just two browser windows open (the Challenger configurator and the bank account page), there's no reason to feel bad about it.
