A weird combination of factors led to a wild car market in the last two and a half years. Fortunately, things seem to have stabilized, and prices are returning to normal. Let's hope this trend continues. Maybe even dealerships will give up on markups! But until then, here's how you could make 2024 a memorable year by becoming the owner of a crossover SUV like no other – the DBX!
A couple of months ago, we were looking at the used car market for sweet deals that others haven't had the time to notice. It's always good to be ahead of the herd when you want to score a resounding win.

The best thing we could find was the Audi e-tron. Porsche Taycan's brother from another mother (or sister from another mister) was not as successful as its Zuffenhausen-based sibling. But Audi made quite a few of them. Now, many are trying to find a new home. Prospective buyers, however, are looking elsewhere.

But a first-generation all-electric sedan with many screens and room for four adults that tries hard to be a grand tourer without having the stamina for it isn't to anyone's liking. As such, it's hard to convince people to come up with even $50,000 for one. But a crossover? That's going to be easier to sell. Especially if it's something made by an established British marque known for manufacturing luxurious rides with potent gas-powered engines, not motors and batteries.

Enter Aston Martin DBX. Now, that's something worth anyone's while! A pre-tax price of a little over $203,000 is guaranteed to get you a machine that will put a big grin on your face. It'll also make you the star of the drop-off and pick-up zone at your kid's, nephew's, or niece's school.

Feeling a bit extra spicy and ready to splurge? The DBX707, with its $239,086 MSRP (freight included), amplifies everything the base DBX can do. Both share the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter V8 engine, but Gaydon technicians have modified the 697-hp version. They gave it everything possible within the realms of a manufacturer-supplied warranty.

But as you might suspect, few customers are ordering a DBX without some options. So, factor in tax and a few packages, and you end up looking at over $250,000 for this high-performance British crossover SUV.

But after three years on the market, the DBX is finally becoming the inventory dealers don't want. A quick glance on a few third-party car-selling platforms shows you can get your hands on a DBX for around $120,000 without any other dealer discounts or incentives. Now, that's depreciation! If you have it in you to haggle, you might get an even better price!

A six-figure sum isn't pocket change. But in this day and age… That's BMW X5 money, if you can believe it or not. So, why go for a Spartanburg-made German midsize SUV when you can stand out from the crowd with something that not many people see all the time on the road? A DBX with around 10,000 miles or more on the clock can be an amazing buy at this price point.

Just make sure you get the extended warranty and have some money aside for servicing. Some customers complain about uneven tire wear. If you get one, make sure that alignment is done right.
Finally, the luxury car market appears to be returning to normal. The new year might bring us even more sweet deals. God knows we need them! Even the good ol' Camry is a $30,000+ car now.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
