The Dodge design challenge was a big thing on social media, and still is, to a degree. However, people are tired of putting Challenger faces on pickup trucks and are only too happy when something new arrives.
It's called the #topgearchallengethree, comes from the British auto magazine Top Gear and wants you to come up with a unique sports car that's also an EV. It can't be a Tesla Roadster II with a bunch of silly wings.

No, the new car needs to be original, and one of the rendering artists from the 'Gram, Brad Builds, came up with this 3D model that we thought was worth supporting. It's gone through quite a few edits, and we couldn't share all of them.

As far as we're concerned, the best version from the front is the first one in yellow. It's got the no-eyes look that's so popular in renderings. Figuring out the transparency and reflections for headlights must be a pain in the backside. But having no headlights also gives it a “we die like men” vibe.

Speaking of paint, the grille of the conceptual EV looks like it can inflict some serious damage. It's got numerous vertical bars holding a large splitter that rises over the sides of the bumper. This looks like it's somewhere between Darth Vader's face mask and a fair trimmer accessory.

Without headlights, the rounded EV concept obviously resembles the Porsche 935 Slantnose. Brad's fantasy car eventually ends up having slithered for headlights and goes through several iterations for the back end.

It gets a flat trunk, a ducktail spoiler, and the giant wing treatment. But all the models come with a racing diffuser that's fit for the Plaid version of the eventual Roadster. We're obviously hinting at the Model S Plaid prototype that went for some Nurburgring records last year, rocking huge aero elements.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
