Just recently, the premium Italian automaker updated the bread-and-butter Stelvio crossover SUV and Giulia sedan to the 2024 model year – because not everyone can have a super-sexy Alfa 33 supercar, right?
Well, it's a little boring to only talk about 2024MY updates on something as emotional as an Alfa Romeo model, but the automotive industry thrives on stuff like that. Besides, the 2024 Stelvio arrived Stateside with fresh looks and a new Competizione Edition while also sporting a new digital instrument cluster and costing less than the competition from BMW's X3, Mercedes' GLC, and the Porsche Macan.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia gained a few extra goodies, plus the Competizione and 100th Anniversary Quadrifoglio editions, and kicks off at a smidgen above the $43k mark. Unfortunately, if you want something cheaper, you're out of luck – the 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale in base Sprint configuration kicks off at no less than $42,995! Frankly, if you ask me, I'm better off with the $43,075 Giulia

Anyway, what if there was something smaller and also a bit more affordable in the range? Certainly, not the limited-edition Alfa Romeo 33 supercar because that one is an arm and a leg! So, how about an Alfa Romeo that would satisfy both the traditional sports car enthusiasts as well as the corner-office head honchos who only believe that CUVs and SUVs are hyped today, and that's why they don't want something like a Giulia-derived Alfa Romeo GTV in the lineup?

I know that it's going to be pretty close to impossible to see such a Holy Grail – an Alfa Romeo that's both affordable, sporty like a two-door sports car, and ready to join the pantheon of crossover SUVs. At least in the real world, that is. On the other hand, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators only needs a few minutes nowadays and some assistance from AI-based software design tools.

For example, Mo Ismail, the previously independent virtual artist known as mo_aoun_ismail on social media, continues to play with AI and 3D sketch software tools like Vizcom. In less than 15 minutes, he recently obtained a realistic rendering of a high-performance Alfa Romeo. But we're all filled with that stuff, as anyone who dreams of an Italian sports car usually envisions it as a two-door coupe. So, a bit later on, he further developed and refined the concept with something that Alfa could easily put into production with a little help from its Stellantis parent and its multitude of modular platforms.

Thus, meet the silver Alfa Romeo Coupe-SUV that clearly mixes the best of both worlds – crossovers and sports cars in a seamless manner. Now, we know that such a two-door CUV project will forever remain merely wishful thinking, but I seriously think that someone from Alfa should take note of this pixel master's designs. Besides, they're already in the same company – as this CGI expert is a creative designer at Jeep, Chrysler, and Ram Trucks at Stellantis North America.

And, when he's not cooking up projects for sister brands, he could easily 'fall prey' to head-hunting agencies because his previous AI-assisted design projects include stuff like rugged and hardcore Toyota FJ Cruiser revivals, an attempt to redesign the edgy Tesla Cybertruck into an adventurous overlander, the next-gen Mercedes G-Class, a quick Scout revival, or my personal favorite – a hilariously on-point BMW pickup truck sporting the humongous nostrils!
