Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari, Abarth, Fiat – all these brands share a few traits. They're all originally from Italy and have always had about the same 'parents' throughout history.
Sure, Ferrari is now a publicly-owned company as the Agnelli family only has a quarter of the shares through Exor, but it's still very much perceived as a cousin and member of the grand Stellantis family. As such, it is no wonder that people like to dream about these brands at the same time. That is also valid across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, as it turns out.
For example, this is the CGI work of Kit-Core, the virtual artist better known as _kit_core on social media, who loves to dabble with imagined sports cars and now decided that maybe it's a good idea to start fiddling with both a Ferrari and Alfa Romeo design project at the same time. Interestingly, while quite different in terms of styling, the allure and overall CGI presence of both are quite the same.
More precisely, the pixel master embarked on a journey of 3D discovery with a Ferrari sports car that feels retro and modern simultaneously – thanks to the chosen proportions, the mid-engine feeling, and the special elements like the LED clusters at the front and rear. Although some could easily speculate this is just another Ferrari EV project, we feel that there are enough hints – especially the big side intakes and the potential central exhaust outlet to assume this is a mid-engine sports car.
Sure, it could be a hybrid or PHEV, but most likely, it's not a fully-fledged all-electric. On the other CGI hand, the Alfa Romeo sports car is harder to pinpoint. It feels a lot more futuristic and detached from the real-world history of the Italian brand than the imagined Ferrari, and while it does have its side intakes, too, they are much smaller and could easily serve other purposes. As such, this slammed Alfa sports car with a flowing style and humongous rear wing plus a central fin is much easier to attach to an EV project than an ICE-powered one.
So, which one is your favorite, if any? Meanwhile, let's just say that both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo don't have big plans for compact and nimble sports cars these days. The latter is busy preparing for the unveiling of the Milano subcompact crossover SUV, a relative of the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600e, among others, that will represent the company's first foray into the all-electric territory. As for the former, Ferrari comes after another record-breaking year of sales in 2023 and will reveal three cars this year – the successor to the 812 Superfast, a LaFerrari hypercar follow-up, and a mysterious apparition that no one really knows anything about.
