Cadillac Escalade ESV – Most Stolen Car in the US

The 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV is officially the most popular car for thieves in the United States, with an average of 15 stolen units per 1000 vehicles. Statistics are provided by the US Highway Data Loss Institute of the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety and revealed that no less than nine of the top ten most stolen cars are Americans, with Mercedes Benz the only model coming from overseas.

The first place was claimed by the 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV, with an average of 15 stolen cars per 1000 units, followed by Ford F-250 Supercrew model years 2005-2007 with 13.1 reported units per 1000 cars. The ninth and the tenth places revealed that 2005-2007 Dodge Durango and 2005-2007 Honda S2000 are the least stolen models with an average of 8.1 stolen automobiles per 1000 cars.

According to FOXNews, the figures provided by IIHS concern models manufactured between 2005 and 2007 and are “based on the number of claims per thousand vehicles insured.”
