The Cybertruck looks more and more like a rolling billboard for Tesla as more celebrities line up to acquire the pickup. Jay Leno was the latest spotted driving a Foundation Series Cybertruck through LA, although he said it belonged to a friend. Tesla's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, is also the proud owner of the VIN002 Cybertruck.
Only 10 Cybertrucks were delivered to customers during the Cybertruck Delivery Day event on November 30, but Tesla had a lot more on the way. Usually, the first units of a new model are sold to employees, and Tesla did this in the past. However, with the Cybertruck, the EV market leader aimed higher by handing the keys to celebrities.

One of the first to take delivery of a Cybertruck was Reddit Founder Alexis Ohanian, who took his role seriously and started sharing Cybertruck videos on social media. Ohanian received the VIN003 Cybertruck, as he confirmed in his videos, and it appears that he was not the only celebrity to own a Cybertruck.

Tesla's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, is also the owner of a Cybertruck, VIN002, no less. Franz was spotted during the event gently lobbing a baseball at the Cybertruck's window as if he was afraid not to scratch it. At first, I thought this was because of the 2019 launch event when he broke the Cybertruck's windows on stage. After finding out that the Cybertruck on stage at the Delivery Day event was VIN002, I sympathize with Franz. Anyway, he seems quite happy in the picture he took during delivery.

It's safe to assume that Elon Musk must be the owner of Cybertruck VIN001 unless he forfeited his rights for higher purposes. We don't know who had the privilege of taking delivery of VIN004, but VIN005 was spotted in Los Angeles with Jay Leno behind the wheel. Approached by a fan driving next to his Cybertruck, Leno was kind enough to show his enthusiasm. This is also how we know that the Foundation Series Cybertruck he drove was VIN005. However, Leno denied he owned it, saying it belonged to a friend.

The famous television host and comedian was reportedly recording a segment for his show because the truck had "Jay Leno's Garage" as the license plate. Although the Jay Leno Garage show was discontinued in 2022, Leno continues to produce new videos for the Jay Leno's Garage YouTube channel. Leno is as popular as ever, with about 3.6 million subscribers watching his weekly shows. I'm sure the Cybertruck segment will become an all-time favorite when it's posted online.

This is not Leno's first contact with the Cybertruck. Tesla's outlandish pickup truck was featured in another Jay Leno's Garage episode in 2020. Back then, Elon Musk also appeared in the show, talking about the Cybertruck, riding shotgun and standing on top of the truck's tonneau cover to prove its strength.
