For all the media attention it’s been getting since November 2019, the Cybertruck is still a rare sight. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been seen driving it on a couple of occasions and he also allowed certain details about it to trickle into the media, mostly via Twitter.
Other than that, the Cybertruck remains a secret, more or less. That will change next week, with a new episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, which will bring a more detailed look both at the Cybertruck and the electric ATV known as Cyberquad.

Word that both EVs would be featured on the show first emerged in January this year, when Musk was spotted riding shotgun in the Cybertruck, with Leno at the wheel. The report was confirmed at the end of last month, when the first teaser for the upcoming season of the series was released.

CNBC has now released more footage from the Cybertruck episode. It focuses mostly on Musk talking about the differences between the Cybertruck prototype unveiled last November and the production version. He talks about the need to make the electric truck smaller by 5% so it could fit into a regular garage, and how the windows on the product version will truly be bulletproof.

As for the question that’s been around since the big unveiling, as to why anyone would need a bulletproof truck, Musk has the perfect answer: “because it’s badass.” Tesla aims to be the leader in Apocalypse tech, he says – and you get a feeling that he’s only half joking.

One of the videos put out by the network includes one frame of Musk standing on the Cybertruck, presumably to prove that it’s really as tough as it looks, but that’s not included in the actual video. There’s also a promise of taking the Cybertruck down the Boring tunnel, to see if it fits. The new teaser doesn’t include any footage of the Cyberquad, so you’ll have to tune in to see it.

Jay Leno’s Garage airs on Wednesdays, at 10P ET.
