Cars have come an incredibly long way over the last century, and while they were initially horseless carriages, we now have rides built for pretty much any purpose. Everything is possible so long as money is no issue, be it the occasional weekend drive at the racetrack, taking the kids to school, or venturing onto arduous tracks.
But there was a time when cars were simple means of transportation, with nothing more than a steering wheel, four wheels, a pair of headlights, and maybe a roof to keep the occupants dry if it rained. They weren't particularly fast and not that safe either, yet they did their part in contributing to the development of the automobile as we all know it.

These initial vehicles tend to cost a small fortune in today's crazy market, and they would be welcomed additions to most garages. If you are into such rides, then you could become the proud owner of one particular Ford Model T. It is a 1917 car that appears to be in very good shape, and it is looking for a new home via an online ad.

The Model T was Henry Ford's baby and was made from 1908 to 1927. It had rear-wheel drive, a 2.9-liter engine up front producing a mere 20 horsepower, and a two-speed transmission in between. It measured only 134 inches (3,404 mm) long, which makes it shorter than the modern-day Volkswagen Up! that was recently discontinued and had a curb weight of a little over half a ton (~1,100 lbs).

This particular copy has been in the same family for the last 15 years and was recently serviced. It has a black exterior, a matching cockpit, a black top, and unknown mileage. In fact, the Garage Kept Motors ad that you can check out here doesn't reveal anything else about it save for the asking price.

So, how much do you think you will have to cough out to make this Ford Model T yours? Not that much, to be honest. The asking price is $16,900, and you can bet that if you buy it, your neighbors will probably think you're rich, and your ride will become the talk of town. After all, how many people do you know who have a vehicle that’s over 100 years old and still drives?

Mind you, we'd get in contact with the vendor to find out additional juicy details about it before making an offer, and we'd clear the garage for it. So, assuming you would be in the market for a new toy on wheels, would this Ford Model T make it to your shopping list? And if so, how much would you be willing to pay for it?
