The upcoming Buick Anthem compact SUV was spotted in China recently, nearly four months after being caught doing some cold weather testing in Colorado.
Fully camouflaged, the vehicle doesn’t reveal that much, but, according to Car News China, we’ll find out more about the new vehicle in April, when an almost production-ready concept will be introduced at the Beijing Motor Show.
Underpinned by GM’s upcoming D2XX global vehicle architecture, the Anthem is rumored to be launched with either a 2.0-liter turbo or a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Pricing is expected to start from 160,000 yuan and end around 220,000 yuan, meaning between $26,400 - $36,300 at current exchange rates.
With no less than 810,000 vehicles sold in China last year (80 percent of global sales), Buick should reach new benchmarks with help from the new Anthem in a booming SUV market.
