Brabus Reportedly Refuses to Tune Pagani Huayra to 900 HP

When the center of your Pagani Huayra is adorned with an AMG-built twin-turbo V12 that delivers 730 hp, you'll probably want to enjoy the superb balance of the Italian machine. Or maybe not. For certain owners, power may be nothing without control, but it still isn't a big deal without an exclusivity factor.

Such ownership feelings and emotions are the bread and butter of the tuning world, but sometimes, owning a Huayra and having the money to make it more powerful that every other Pagani in the world is not enough to get the job done.

At least this is what one Paul Siha, a Huayra owner from the UK, who works as a managing director in the property industry, claims. The man used his Instagram account to explain how he approached Brabus seeking a 900 hp upgrade and was turned down.

It's not like Brabus hadn't worked on Affalterbach's twin-turbo 6.5-liter V12 before. Or that they're afraid of inserting such levels of power into a G-Class.

While nothing is official, the problem standing in the way of this guy's high-octane happiness is probably an agreement between Mercedes and its favorite tuner.

The story started with a Veyron project that's being built as you are reading this

The story started out on the Instagram page of tuner Oakley Design, which explains how they have just the kind of deal mentioned above with McLaren.

If you happen to be in such a situation though and you haven't managed to convince the good guy Horacio Pagani, it means that probably the Huayra should never have that level of power.

And if you're still desperate about those 2,000 HP GT-Rs and Gallardos laughing at you, you should let your car get better with age. After all, Oakley Design is currently working on a 1,600 HP upgrade for the recently-retired Bugatti Veyron, for instance.
