Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is a Fully Functional Concept Car, W16 Engine Sounds Beastly – Video

Filmed by the petrolheads over at Magazin ProDriver CZ, the adjacent clip shows the magnificent Bugatti Vision GT concept car during the difficult transportation process from the Volkswagen Night backstage to the Bugatti stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In it, you'll see (and hear) what's probably the fastest concept vehicle meant for PlayStation land. Actually running on its own steam! And then there's the deep burble of a humongous force-fed W16 motor.

While its styling may polarize opinion, there's no shadow of a doubt that awesomeness is propelling the concept car that previews the yet-to-be-launched Bugatti Chiron hypercar. Compared to the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, the Vision GT's W16 quad-turbo motor sounds deeper, meaner, as if it is announcing that the best is yet to come. That's what unrestricted exhaust flow does to the 8-liter engine.

Mind you, we have our reservations about the ride quality of the Vision Gran Turismo. The reason for this? Just look at those huge concept car-like wheels. It appears that the tires are painted on the alloys, with very little give in the sidewall. But then again, it's known that the apperance of a concept car is greatly improved with absurd wheel designs and tire sizes. The Bleu de France-carbon fiber combo isn't too shabby either.

So what is the deal with this yet-unlaunched Chiron?

Nobody really knows for certain at the present moment, except for Bugatti higher-ups and the engineers behind the Veyron's successor. What we know up to this point is that 92 percent of the Bugatti Chiron will be all-new or improved over the Veyron. If the rumor mill is to be believed, expect at least 1,500 ponies and massive amounts of torque from the vehicle that will be crowned fastest production car in the world.
