Aston Martin and and TRG (The Racers Group) have recently reached an agreement that will see the British brand compete in the North American motorsport series from next year.
The automaker will supply 10 race cars to TRG, which will be entered in races such as the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Twelve Hours of Sebring, The Grand American Rolex Series and Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
It will all start with the Vantage GTE, a vehicle that will be released on February 7th at the Sebring winter testing session and will compete in the Twelve Hours of Sebring in March. Next up, we’ll have the Vantage GT3, which will take part in The Grand American Rolex Series and the Pirelli World Challenge Series. As for the Vantage GT3, this will play in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
We have to explain that the GT3 is based on the V12 Vantage, while the GTE and the GT4 use the V8 Vantage as a starting point.
"We are delighted to form this innovative new partnership with TRG which presents great potential across a variety of racing competitions. In TRG we have a proven race partner who clearly knows how to be competitive and win races, helping us achieve new levels of success in North American motorsport for Aston Martin," said John Gaw, Managing Director of Aston Martin Racing.
