Whenever you modify your car, and take its power output up, considerably more than stock, it is best to start looking at improving other areas of the car as well. Brakes, wheels, tires, suspension, and even the wheel nuts need to be of a higher strength and quality than those fitted from the factory.
This 1990s Chevrolet Camaro is the perfect example of that, as it loses a wheel at the very beginning of a drag race against a turbocharged E36 BMW M3. The rear-left wheel comes off, as the Camaro sprints off the line, and we say it improper lugnuts were the cause of the incident, as the possibly heavier rims may have put too much pressure on the possibly stock nuts, which may have simply sheered off - the brake disk and all the suspension components still seem to be attached to the car, so the wheel itself was clearly the problem.
