Right now, most carmakers around the North American region are ahead of Japan's Honda in terms of electric vehicles. After all, the battery-powered Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX are only coming to the party next year – and hopefully, that's not too late to establish a firm foothold.
The carmaker recently confirmed these GM Ultium-based siblings are coming to nationwide dealerships soon – just not this year. So, they're already late with their plans to achieve 100% sales of EV and FCEV models by 2040. But the company is probably going to push the EV accelerator pedal after the prologue and ZDX's arrival in showrooms, with a larger model arriving in 2025 and even joining them with some "fun" electric motorcycles for the United States.

According to Autoweek, the company is also preparing its US production facilities (Marysville Auto Plant and East Liberty Auto Plant, plus the Anna Engine Plant) to produce its upcoming electric vehicles. So, it is only natural to assume that more nameplates will follow in the Prologue and ZDX footsteps by going fully electric. Well, according to the rumor mill, there's also one hero model joining the fray – the iconic Honda/Acura NSX.

The Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, wrapped up the production of the Acura NSX Type S last year – so they are most likely eagerly awaiting news about a potential successor. The speculations have always touched on the subject of electrification since the second-gen evolved the powertrain to a hybrid form with up to 602 horsepower in the Type S application.

So, switching to a fully electric lifestyle wouldn't be a surprise. Quite on the contrary, as EV sports cars are becoming increasingly common these days. The Halo oto channel on YouTube provides fresh automotive info corroborated with their virtual designs, and now, there are some CGI ideas about the next Honda/Acura NSX's potential as an EV.

Since earlier this year Acura only showcased the Performance Electric Vision design study preview during the jam-packed Monterey Car Week, there is no way of knowing what comes next for the Acura NSX. Well, logic dictates that, first, we will see the concept unleashed to gauge interest in an EV successor for the beloved sports car nameplate.

After that, as per tradition, the initial concept would morph into a near-production prototype of the Acura NSX with a toned-down design. But all that is quite a long way into the future – and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators wants everything to happen right now. So, the channel's resident pixel master envisioned not one, not two, but three Acura NSX all-electric proposals for our CGI-viewing pleasure.

Thus, now is the right time to select a favorite from the trio of options – and hope that, even if it's not the same as in reality, Honda and Acura will proceed to present us with a new NSX sooner rather than later.
