They say one of the most prominent elements that appeal to Corvette enthusiasts is the ability to morph any iteration of 'America's sports car' into a blank canvas waiting to make it your own. And, arguably, that's valid everywhere – including across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI.
Eight iterations have appeared since 1953, when GM's Chevrolet brand officially introduced the Corvette. And, 70 years later, the nameplate is getting more potent than ever, especially since the C8 reinvented the traditional sports car's front-engine RWD format into a mid-engined one.

Many enthusiasts have reworked the style of the Corvette to suit their needs, but sometimes, there are also geniuses (or villains, depending on your POV) who take things a step beyond your wildest expectations. And, of course, it's way easier to do that when you're inhabiting the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

But wait, there is no need to take our word for granted – as we have a proper example. Just recently, the good folks over at Car Design World (aka cardesignworld on social media) tipped us off to an alternative revival of DeLorean's sports car fame – and one based on the underpinnings of the C8 Corvette Stingray.

So, you already know it goes against the real world's DeLorean Alpha5's every philosophy – with the latter being an upcoming battery-powered electric sports produced under contract manufacturing by Italdesign Giugiaro for the American DeLorean Motor Company. It should hit 60 mph (96 kph) in less than three seconds and soar to 155 mph (250 kph) – but some people won't want that because it doesn't 'shake, rattle, and roll' like an ICE-powered DeLorean should.

Back to this digital project, we can also tell you it was dreamt by Angel Guerra, a virtual artist better known as angelguerradesign on social media. His idea was dubbed 'John Z DeLorean' as a nod to the American engineer, inventor, and executive from the US auto industry who worked for General Motors before establishing the DeLorean Motor Company - John Zachary DeLorean.

This ICE-powered tribute (note the small exhaust outlets tucked in the middle of the car's rear) doesn't mind if no one knows it has the V8 heart and soul of a C8 Corvette Stingray because the design aims to bridge the gap between DMC past and DeLorean's future even better than the Alpha5. Sadly, it is all wishful thinking, including the louvered rear window, the stylish front with many aero tips and tricks, or the minimalist head- and taillight designs.

Oh, by the way, if you're not too fond of the 'John Z DeLorean' project, note that the pixel master previously worked on a model called 'DeLorean Legacy' – an endeavor that might have slightly more chances to materialize because although it's unrelated to the DeLorean Motor Company, it does have the DeLorean family's blessing. So, which one is your favorite?
