Everybody knows that off-road vehicle owners love to accessorize their rides. From new bumpers and running boards to custom wheels and suspension systems, off-road enthusiasts are willing to spend big bucks on all kinds of aftermarket parts and accessories to spruce their vehicles up. Since Bronco is Ford's most customized vehicle at the moment, it's no surprise to often see new aftermarket parts.
The latest offering from Anderson Composites is meant to give your modern Ford Bronco a distinctive roadster-style look and let you enjoy open-air driving. The kit includes a set of fiberglass Roadster Doors for the 2021-2023 Ford Bronco 4DR.

Anderson Composites, a company located in Southern California, specializes in carbon fiber body panels for locally-built muscle vehicles, and their focus on quality and durability helped them stand out from the competition. Their products not only boost the aesthetic appeal of the vehicles they are installed on but also improve performance, helping with weight saving, cooling, or aerodynamics. The aftermarket body parts maker is also a supplier of carbon fiber products for Ford Performance Parts.

Some of Ford's fans might remember that the original Bronco introduced in 1966 was offered in two options: a two-door configuration and a no-door one. The latter was known as the Bronco Roadster and had no doors or roof. It was the ultimate open-top SUV for drivers who wanted to enjoy the lighthearted feel of a doorless driving experience.

However, the no-door trim didn't offer a lot of functionality, so it hasn't gained too many customers. Only about 5,000 units were sold, and the automaker decided to discontinue it in 1968.

Now, Anderson Composites wants to bring that look back with their latest Bronco kit. The new fiberglass parts are functional swing-out doors, though the driver and passengers don't even have to open them to get in or out of the vehicle. With this kit installed on your Bronco, you will get to connect with the elements in a way that wouldn't even be possible in an enclosed vehicle. Moreover, the vehicle retains its SUV functionality because it still has a roof and windshield.

According to the manufacturer, the doors are made using a vacuum-infused molding process with fiberglass cloth and are given a white gel coat finish. Thanks to their large "Classic U" opening, off-road trail driving visibility is greatly improved. The aftermarket body parts specialist actually recommends the Roadster-style Bronco doors for off-road use only, though driving with the doors off is legal in most states.

Tipping the scales at just 14.8 pounds (6.7 kg), the fiberglass doors offer a significant weight reduction from Bronco's stock doors, which weigh 52.5 pounds (23.7 kg). Designed to replace the stock parts, they are also relatively straightforward to install.

Anderson Composites' Roadster-style doors are only offered for the four-door Ford Bronco for the moment, but a set for the two-door configuration will be available this winter. The price for the front and rear pair is $1,099 each.
