Acura is making efforts bring its game to a new level and the company has used the Detroit Auto Show to give us an important step of this plan: the ILX concept. The vehicle uses the US-spec Honda Civic as a base, but comes with a totally new design approach, using angular styling elements.
The vehicle is pretty close to its production form, which will allow customers to choose between three engines: a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission, and a 1.5-liter gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, with the last being Acura’s first hybrid.

The production model Acura ILX is scheduled to arrive this spring. This will be the entry-level Acura vehicle and the company is looking to bring new customers to the brand through it.
